The Brief: Supply Source tendered for, and won, the opportunity to provide £1.8m needles and syringes for the vaccination programme. 

The Challenge: To source and supply to a specification via tender to fulfill an urgent demand of products to support a COVID vaccination programme, delivered between June and October 2021. 

The Supply Source Solution: Supply Source researched potential manufacturers, going above and beyond by carrying out due diligence surveys on the certification and test reports provided, plus commissioned local legal experts in public sector procurement to ensure a compliant process was followed. Supply Source arranged for samples to be air freighted to the Italian government for testing to ensure the products were the best fit. After winning the tender against 86 total submissions with our competitive solution that could deliver high volume rapidly, we arranged for the initial two batches of products to be air freighted directly to the customer. We managed the logistics and delivery of these, providing a representative on the ground, fluent in the local language, to receive, oversee and verify the initial shipments. Following consignments were delivered via sea and road straight to the customer’s designated warehouse.
